One Stop Student Service Center

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Client: Cincinnati State Technical & Community College (CSTCC)

Project:
With current student services (10,000 + Students) scattered throughout the existing main building on at least five different locations CSTCC determined that it was time to simplify and make these activities/operations more efficiently and logistically effective. Design team visited and studied the one stop center at the University of Cincinnati (35,000 + students) to gather best practice ideas.

Details:
Solutions produced a consolidated operational center which provided: program/class informational kiosks; helpdesk; financial aid office; treasurer office for direct payments; counselors suite for one on one consultations; academic advisors meeting kiosks, break room for staff; lounge/waiting area for students and or parents; computer corner for self help on line assistance; common work room for staff; selective meeting and conference room(s) as required. The entrance lobby provided an openness with rotating glass walls, metal texture ceiling panels, accent lighting and front counter consisting of a kit of parts - allowing for it to be arranged in a couple of different configurations as needed.

Visibility (to see what was going on) was a critical element that needed to be provided for when appropriate.
