Alaska-Martin Project - New Building/Addition
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Client: Alaska Nursing Home
Project:
An existing Nursing Home was in serious need of renovation to bring it current with State Nursing Home and Building Codes.
Details:
As a logical step, the Owners chose to have FWAS design a new building to accommodate 68 new beds of Intermediate Care and appropriate support services and facilities; along with renovating the existing building (in the second phase) for another 32 residential care beds. The overall program would then provide for respite care, adult day care, as well as rest home (long term) care. The project would include: a day room for communal gathering, with an exterior patio; nurse stations central to bedrooms layout; kitchen and dining hall; lounges for family interactions; administrative offices; chapel; physical therapy facilities; social services amenities, Doctor/Dentist and hairdresser suite; laundry and maintenance facilities; employees lounge and locker room areas; and other supporting service areas. Exterior green spaces and naturally arranged patio areas would enhance the serene pastoral feel of the one-story floor plan.
