Happy House Daycare

Location: West End, Cincinnati, Ohio
Client: Veronica's Happy House

Project:
Expanding Daycare operator selected a vacant retail space in a strip mall for conversion to her new daycare location. Existing space conditions were fully assed and categorized prior to development of proposed conceptual layout with playful three-dimensional objects hanging from the ceiling, bars, and posts. Some other key features of the project included: Varying ceiling heights; along with color variations and different surface textures provided for a stimulating environment for the little people in their daily stay at the Happy House.

Details:
2,500 SF. was effectively designed to provide for: business office and reception area; two large classrooms to accommodate 35 to 50 toddlers; large multi-purpose area which doubles for internal muscle/recreation and dining; a baby room to serve 6-8 cribs; kitchenette; boys and girls restrooms, applicable storage and mechanical rooms.

The project was creatively and efficiently designed to be completed for less than $50/SF.

Little Angles Daycare

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Client: Beulah Baptist Church

Project:
With relocation of church into a different facility a functional assessment was commissioned to determine renovation needs, which would meet and pass Ohio Day Care Licensure standards.

Details:
ADA compliance items included new entrance/exit ramps, changing out door hardware, emergency fire strobe alarm system, miscellaneous replacing of under sized doors. Other items included: wall protection surfacing for muscle play areas; new lighting fixtures; and refurbishing of kitchen operations.

Exterior renovations were: new play area with security fencing on perimeter; entrance control sequencing for public visitors; and ADA parking spaces for yellow buss and children drop offs..

Day Care capacity was 160 children; aging from infant to pre-kindergartener.
