New Single Family House
Location: Woodlawn, Ohio
Client: Mr. Kenneth (Attorney) & Mrs. Dr. Maria Lawson
Project:
To assess from owners provided stock plans and priority listing a programming outline by which design could become focused. After a couple of schemes FWAS developed a 3,800 sf. two story solution that emerged as meeting the family needs.
Details:
The site had a forest type composition at the rear consequently the rear wall on the first level was 80% glazing, bringing the outdoors into the house. Architecturally the client wanted to use a combination of stone at base; cedar siding, and with 3 dimensional shingles on roofs.
At first level areas were: entry/foyer, formal dining, study/office, kitchen and pantry with attached breakfast nook adjacent to family room, very large great room, parents suite containing a bedroom, study/office, large his and her walk-in closets, very large bathroom, 1/2 bath, closets, breezeway connection to three car garage. At second level the house had: four bedrooms, two with their own baths, one full bath was public for guest access; large walk in closets; a walkway bridge that over looked the down into the great room, providing a great sense of openness.
