Initiated from the very inception, 1996-2000 and 2002-2004, the role of Planning, Design & Construction Quality Manager for a unique building project of national significance - focus on Slavery and the journeys to freedom. As DCQM, singular handedly: directed site selection analysis and investigations; site planning; site logistic planning and coordination involving - utility relocations; the "new riverfront" street patterns and operationally the new underground bus/transit center; as it relates to the proposed upper ground buildings; restructured and managed the site and building oversight committee; lead interview team in selection of architects and engineering teams; negotiated terms, conditions, and responsibilities matrix for architects and construction management teams; created and issued the national RFQ for construction management teams; selected and lead Site/Bldg. committee in its interviewing of construction management team; drafted up in-conjunction with NURFC attorneys contracts for the architect/engineers and later the construction management team; managed and directed the technical design review meetings; primary assessment of project construction costs at each phase; monitored, evaluated and coordinated project schedules as it related to overall design progress components; conducted periodic constructability reviews based on phases established by contract deliverables; participation in partnering activities for multi-projects (Fort Washington Way, Bengals' football stadium, and partial garage construction) as part of monthly coordination meetings with City, County, and State staff/officials plus all the associated design/engineering/planning consultants under contract for services; executed daily administration of design and construction issues; developed and prepared written reports and presentations as required for staff, board committees, city/state/county government officials; travel as required; and many other tasks as was necessary to successful completed work tasks.
