Building 411: Floor Tile Repairs & Exterior Renovations

Renovations & Asbestos Abatement
Client: US Department of Veterans Affairs
Location: VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio

Project:
The main food service building for this medical center needed solutions to problems that had advanced to critical levels. Complicating the probable solutions with sensitivity required due to the historical certification of the structure. Additionally all work must be done without interrupting the 24/7 campus-wide food service operations.

Details:
The project successfully designed solutions to: water infiltration issues at walls, ceilings, windows, and doors; renovations/repairs to roof system, gutter and downspouts; removing asbestos contained floor mastic under damaged VCT units throughout; various walls and ceiling repairs/replacement required due to prior water damage; a structural stabilization of a dropping foundation section.

VA master specifications were incorporated to complete final design documents. Critical phasing of project work flow, and schedule developed with VA staff and required by Contractor of Record.
