Project:
To convert a vacant former nightclub space into a new hardware store for the Avondale community, the only on in the area. A partnership with a private investor and non-profit development corp. was formed and served as the client.
Details:
The selected building needed a complete new roofing surface as well as significant structural stabilizing. North face of building was refaced with split face concrete block supported by steel angle running full width. New entry truck delivery and interior doors installed as required. All exterior window openings filled in with glass block units to provide diffused sun light while presenting added security at sidewalk face.
Building was completely: rewired, and replumb throughout. New HVAC units were added to ensure appropriate climatic conditions. Tenant selected all new flooring, and ceiling systems included in design scheme. Franchiser provided standard detail and specs for isle widths, shelving, way finding signage, circuiting for cash/inventory register, levels of lighting intensity, and location of entrance and exits as related to customer service counter.
