Renovations & Adaptive Reuse
Client: St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church

The church had for years, under utilized a 2,500sf. ancillary building which had a attached three bay garage complex. Goal to maximize its out-reach programs of the church by a comprehensive design and renovation of this facility.
Details:
Site development involved: designing a substantial retaining wall at rear (creek side) to restore and stabilize soil elevation; installing trench drains to improve on site storm water management; earth berms at front entrance; new concrete paver walk system; and resurfacing of parking areas. Building facades were sensitively redesigned to highlight interior functions while exhibiting a new public face.
Ancillary building new floor plan contains: four private offices; one small and one large conference rooms, common receptionist/administrative assistant personnel pool; staff break room; mechanical room; two separate unisex restrooms; new flooring and ceilings throughout; walls appropriately detailed for required finishes; custom casework and countertops, and fire safety upgrades.
A new steel 3 dimensional framing facing system was designed to provide a new perspective look at face of the garage portion of the complex.
